I. Brief History Introduction and regular activities being conducted by the Department:
The department started functioning in 1965 with the start of MBBS course. P.G. Diploma [Diploma in Forensic Medicine] commenced in 1982 while P. G. Degree [Doctor of Medicine] commenced in 1988. It became the first Post Graduate Department in the State to be recognized by the Medical Council of India in 1996. The department was accorded permission by State Government for conducting independent Medico-legal Autopsies at KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and Medical Research Centre in 2003. Read more
