The services offered by the Department include:

  • Reconstructive Surgeries for Trauma, Cancer, Gender Reassignment, etc.
  • Craniofacial Surgeries for Congenital Deformities of Head & Face and Trauma
  • Burns Management for Acute cases and Post Burns Deformities and Disfigurements.
  • Microsurgery facilities for replantations, free tissue transfer, nerve and vascular injuries.
  • Hand Surgeries for Deformities either Congenital or Acquired
  • Cosmetic Surgeries like Body Contouring (Liposuction, Tummy Tucks, etc.), Facial Rejuvenation (Face-Lift, Blepharoplasty, etc.), Rhinoplasty, Breast Surgeries (Augmentation, Reduction, and Lifts), Fillers, Thread Lifts, etc.
  • OPD on all days between 9 am to 5 pm, except Sundays and Govt. holidays.
  • Operating facilities with the latest surgical equipments and a operating microscope.
  • The department can handle all kind of emergencies including mass casualty with consultants available round the clock.

Speech Therapy

The Department of Plastic Surgery has Speech & Language Pathologist treating various patients like Cleft Lip – Palate, Delayed Speech & Language with mental retardation, Autism, Puberfonia, Diplofonia, Andofonia, Aphasia, stammering, learning disability etc. The therapist is provided with armamentarium like Dr. Speech (Voice Therapy) software, Nasal View and Naso-endoscope for better assessment & treatment.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is very important part in the rehabilitation of patients undergoing plastic surgical procedures. Physiotherapy is essential in preventing post burn deformities like contractures. It is also important after hand reconstructive surgeries for nerves and tendons. Admitted patients also undergo physiotherapy to prevent joint stiffness, pressure sores, respiration complications etc. The department has a dedicated Physiotherapist who takes care of these needs of the patients.

Burns Intensive Care Unit

The Department has a state of art Burns Intensive Care Unit with a total of 11 beds of which 4 are high dependency beds with ventilator facilities. This Unit also has a dedicated Operation Theatre and a patient treatment room with burns tub, hydraulic patient transfer unit and specialised trolley. It also has a well trained nursing and other para medical staff for proper burns care.

Skin Bank

The Department also runs a Skin Bank in collaboration with the Rotary Club. This is one of the few Skin Banks in the country, catering to the requirements of burns patients.
