INTRODUCTION
The department was started in the year 1966 and it was headed by Dr. R. A. Kutre. Dr. D.S. Kuchabal joined the Department in 1971 as Asst. Prof, & later served as Head of the Department till 2000. Dr. B. Siddaramappa joined the department in1978 as a lecturer and served as Head of the Department from 2000 to Jan. 2010 & continued to work as Professor till Feb. 2018. Dr. B.S. Manjunathswamy joined the department as a lecturer in 1985 and served as Head of the Department from Feb. 2010 to Apr. 13 and again from May 2016 he has worked as Head of the department till 18th Mar. 2020. Dr. A.M. Pandit joined the department as a lecturer in 1991 and served as Head of the Department from May 2013 till May 2016 and again from 19th March 2020 to 30th Nov. 2021. Dr. Bhavana Doshi joined the department as Associate Professor in 25th Nov. 2016 and she is working as Head of the Department from 1st Dec. 2021. The other staff members working in the department are Dr. Shivakumar Patil as Associate Professor, Dr. Vijaya Sajjan as Associate Professor, Dr. Amruta Mohite & Dr. Sharada Goudagaon as Senior Resident.
