Out Patient Service

           The Out Patient service of the Department of Neurosurgery is located in (Sharavati) 2nd Floor.             

The Department runs OPD for Six days in a week as follows:

Tuesday 9 am to 1 pm Dr. S. S. Mahantshetti.
Dr. Praful S. Maste.
Wednesday 9 am to 1 pm Dr. Raviraj S. Ghorpade.
Thursday 9 am to 1 pm Dr. Rajesh Y. Shenoy.
Friday 9 am to 1 pm Dr. S. S. Mahantshetti.
Dr. Praful S. Maste.
Saturday 9 am to 1 pm Dr. Raviraj S. Ghorpade.

In Patient Services

The inpatient services include a well equipped 10 bedded intensive care unit with ventilator and continuous monitoring facilities.  Apart from these facilities, there are General ward, Semi-private, Private and Deluxe wards.

The inpatient services of department of Neurosurgery are located on 3rd floor known as Neurosurgery General ward and Neuro Surgical Intensive Care Unit situated on the 5th floor which include a well equipped 8 bedded in step-down & 5 bedded in Hi-tech side with state of the art equipment viz. central monitor for each bed, blood gas analyzer, blood coagulation parameter analyzer, cardiac defibrillators and infusion pumps, etc. The nurse to patient ratio in ICU is 1:1 and the wards are well equipped with various monitoring facilities with on duty medical doctors around.

There is well equipped neurosurgical Operation Theater situated in 1st Floor of the hospital. Operation theater are equipped with the state of the art modern amenities and equipments e.g. laminar flow, electro hydraulic operating tables, latest operating microscopes, image intensifiers, nerve stimulators etc. Along with this each operation theater is equipped with state of the art anesthesia equipment and monitoring systems. The department of neurosurgery has back up of most modern sister departments of Neuro-radiology and Neuro-pathology.

The department specializes in various fields of Neurosurgery i.e. Neurovascular surgery, Spine surgery with instrumentation, Pediatric neurosurgery, Peripheral nerve and brachial plexus surgery, Neuro-trauma.


Physiotherapy:

Pain treatment is one of the integral aspects of functional neurosurgery and department pioneered this field extending the boundaries of pain management.  Physiotherapy following the Neuro Surgery is very important.
