2) Pediatric Ward of 160 beds to cater to 4 Units as per MCI requirement, with an emergency ward for each unit.

Intensive Care Units

o    PICU of level III with 14 beds, the first of its kind in North Karnataka with internationally trained faculty.

o    NICU of Level III with 33 beds, the first of its in North Karnataka, with DM Neonatologist and Internationally trained faculty.

o    NICU of level II with 28 beds and 6 Kangaroo Mother Care beds.

Pediatric hematology oncology unit of KLE’S Dr Prabhakar Kore charitable hospital

o    Pediatric hematology oncology unit of the department of Pediatrics was set up in September 2017 at KLE’S Dr Prabhakar Kore charitable hospital. The unit consists of 20 bedded pediatric oncology ward, procedure room chemotherapy reconstitution unit. A 20 bedded thalassemia daycare is situated adjacent to the pediatric oncology ward. Till date around 550s children with cancer have been registered. All these children are treated on charitable basis with the help of government schemes like Ayushman Bharat scheme and NGOs. Our hospital has MOU with national NGOs like CANKIDS, Leukemia crusaders, Cuddles foundation. We are also supported by the local NGOs. Basic investigations, first line antibiotics and 3 meals a day are provided completely free of cost by KLE’s Dr Prabhakar Kore charitable trust. The bulk of patients is constituted by pediatric leukemias followed by lymphomatous and solid tumors.

Special Clinics:

• Pediatric Neurology and Child Development Clinic run by a DM Pediatric Neurologist.
• Kangaroo Mother Care clinic this is attached to the Pediatric Neurology and Child Development Clinic.
• Retinopathy of Premature clinics: Run by a trained Ophthalmologist where all high risk babies are   screened for ROP.
• Pediatric Nephrology: Run by a trained Pediatric Nephrology.
• Smile Train Clinic: Run by a team of Pediatricians, Plastic Surgeons, Orthodontist and Pediatric Surgeon.
• Under Five Clinics: To conduct regular Immunization and provide free medicines to the registered babies. This clinic is run by the Pediatricians and Faculty of Community Medicine. In addition to out reach hospitals and Primary Health Centres.
• High Risk Baby Clinic for followup of High Risk NICU Graduates.
• Pediatric Diabetic Clinic
• Pediatric Allergy & Asthama Clinic

3) Out reach OPD: Run on weekly basis at three Primary Health Centres attached to J N Medical College, Belgaum.
